Nitsie Theresa Saucier Juneau

Nitsie Saucier Juneau, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bertrand T. Juneau and her parents, Willie B. Saucier, Sr. and Loretta M. Saucier; and her sister, Marie S. Saucier. She is survived by her children, Thomas Juneau (Raylene) and Keith G. Juneau (Christel); grandchildren, Geoffrey Juneau, Megan J. Armstrong, Heather T. Juneau and Hannah L. Juneau; great-grandchildren, Anna, Zackary, Henry and June; her siblings, Barbara S. Ducote, Shirley S. Wilson and Willie B. Saucier, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Jane A. Williams. Nitsie, a former resident of St. Francis Villa, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in her church and community and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She loved her vegetable garden, sharing tomatoes with friends and spent hours sewing happily. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking (Maw Maw’s Homemade Bread). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, LA on October 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM. An evening visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 5-8:00 pm. Visitation will continue at 9:00 AM on Monday. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
