Nadia de la Houssaye St. Paul Moise, retired attorney, died August 6, 2015 at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a very brief illness. A native New Orleanian and lifelong resident of the city, she was predeceased by her parents, John St. Paul, Jr. and Nadia de la Houssaye St. Paul, and her brother, John St. Paul, III. A graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, she attended Newcomb College and graduated from Tulane University School of Law in 1953. She was a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association for more than 60 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurence Moise Dwyer (Ken) of Greensboro, North Carolina; her son, John St. Paul Moise of Diamondhead, Mississippi; grandchildren, Rogers Cason Dwyer, Arden Dwyer Crozer (William), Claire Baumann Dwyer, and Nadia Anne Moise; and nephew and nieces, Joseph P. St. Paul, Elizabeth M. St. Paul, and Janet M. St. Paul and their families.
Nadia was a woman of great faith. She was devoted to her family and friends and was loved and appreciated by all who knew her for her genuine kindness, great wit, and unwavering enthusiasm for her beloved city of New Orleans. She enjoyed its history, its culture, its food, and its music to the fullest.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 12 noon. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2734 Nashville Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115 or The Historic New Orleans Collection, 533 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.
