Myra Ann Alfano

Mother of Michael Anthony Alfano (Lori) and Thérése Marie Alfano. Also survived by her granddaughter, Hope Ashley Alfano and her brothers, Edward J. Bernard and Robert P. Bernard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Haze J. Bernard and Mae Schexnyder Bernard.

Myra was born at home in New Orleans on December 24, 1933. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy. She was employed by National Cargo Bureau. At Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chalmette, La., she was a member of the Socialites Ladies Club. Myra loved playing cards and visiting the casinos.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and special thanks to Dr. Alan Yager and his staff and to the staff of Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 12:00PM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings will be greatly appreciated.
