Muriel Yost Surcouf passed away on December 2, 2024 at 93 years of age. She was born in New Orleans, LA on April 19, 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Milton Louis Surcouf, Jr.; parents, Richard Edmond Yost and Adele Wilson Yost; children, Phyllis Mary Surcouf, Milton Louis Surcouf, III, and Bryan Gerard Surcouf; and sisters, Jewel Yost Cappel (Roy) and Adele Yost Faucheaux. Muriel is survived by her children, Laura Surcouf Lewis (Craig), Sheela Anne Surcouf (Paul Juge), Holly Surcouf, Clark (John), Michael Thad Surcouf (Lisa); grandchildren, Scott Lewis (Rachel), Chelsea Lewis (Jody), Amy Corder (Nick), Shelby Ling (Parker), Matthew Clark, Samantha Clark (August), Aidan Clark, Madelyn Clark, and Lucas Surcouf; great-grandchildren, Cedric and Peyton Corder. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and the Juge family. She was a parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church and was a member of Chers Amis, and she attended LSU, where she was a member of Alpha Omicorn Phi. Muriel was an expert seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family. The services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division St. Metairie, LA 70001. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the memorial mass at 12:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.
