Michael L. Sowell departed this earth on Sunday, December 11th, surrounded by the people who loved him most. He is survived by his devoted wife, Annette (Bonura); his children Pitrina (John), Michael (Kami) and Amanda; his 5 grand-children Josephine, Stella, Agnes, John Michael and Henry; his brother, Lark; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Melba; his father, S.L.; and his sister, Dinah. Mike grew up in Jefferson, LA and was a resident of Metairie, LA for the last 37 years. He was a graduate of John Curtis Christian School (Class of 1969) and a former employee of American Cyanamid (Cytec). He was an avid lover of race cars, photography and country music. Throughout his 65 1/2 years, he shared his humor and zest for life with everyone he encountered. Please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 17th at St. Christopher Church, Metairie, LA. Visitation at Noon. Mass at 1pm. We ask that your attire reflect the brightness of his smile and the joy in his laughter. In lieu of flowers, please have masses said in Mike’s honor.
