Mike was born on May 2nd, 1981 in Metairie, Louisiana. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School where he was a star football player. He went on to play football at Ole Miss, where he graduated with a degree in Finance.
After his time at Ole Miss, Mike moved back to Metairie where he spent the remainder of his life. He was a dedicated son and a loyal, protective brother to his four siblings. Mike was also the best and goofiest playmate to his six nieces and nephew.
He loved riding his motorcycle and jumped at any opportunity to go as fast as possible. He had many talents, including being able to charm everyone around him, and he took great pride in how well he could sharpen a knife. He had an incredibly generous heart and he will be greatly missed.
Mike passed away on November 4th, 2023. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Mary Hollinger; his four siblings, Charles Hollinger III (Anna), Andrea Arceneaux (Mike), Elizabeth Hollinger (Drew), and Allison Loftus (Andrew); and his nieces and nephew, Sophie and Maggie Arceneaux, Charlotte and Cate Hollinger, Laura and Audrey Loftus, and Theo Stubbs.
A visitation for Michael will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM, and inurnment thereafter at St. Louis Cemetery No 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
