I was very fortunate to have been a patient of Dr. Fisher's.  I did not know that he passed and went in this morning for my 6 month checkup.  I am devastated to hear this news.  When I saw him last August, he reassured me that he was doing much better and he was going to be fine.  Ironically, he saved my life some 7 years ago when he discovered that I had a brain aneurysm.  I was able to get it repaired before it burst.  For that and many more thoughtful acts, I will always remember him and love him.  They don't have doctors like him anymore.  My condolences to his family; who I join in never being quite the same without him but a better person for having him for a short time.

I was devastated today to hear of the loss of one of the best Dr's known. I was his youngest patient. I saw him for 9 years. He always smiled and just loved his kids. He truly cared, and had the best bed side manner than any Dr in La. I would take your place if I could. Only God knows why he needed him more than us. Prayers to his mother, wife, children. Everyone will miss your smile.

I am so lucky to have known such a wonderful person. People may think or say he was just my Doctor but I also felt he was a friend.
 He was always so patient and so compassionate. He will be so  missed by many.
 I apologize for being so late for saying this now and giving my condescendent to his family, friends, his staff and nurses.                                                                   I did not learn about his death till yesterday. I would have given my apologies so much sooner.
 They always say the good die young. There was no  better than him as proof of the saying.
  By far his Office and Clinic is the best you can be lucky to be part of as a patient. For the Clinic having such a wonderful staff and nurses. I will be grateful for you. I wish you condescending too. This Clinic shows a true testament of how wonderful he was as a Doctor. Also it is a testament to his Wife a wonderful Doctor.
 Dr. Michael I will miss you and I am so grateful to God that he sent you not just to me but the World. Know that you were cherished by so many. 
 To his family I wish you comfort and a sense of peace for your lose of him. For your pain to be eased, may your heart stay strong.

Had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Fischer last spring when I went in for an EEG. Found out we had grown up in the same area & attended schools w/ common friends. He was a cordial man to have met. Prayers for his family & friends. I will be thinking of him as I go in for carpal tunnel surgery next month.

I am still in shock over the passing of Dr. Mike.  He has been not only my physician but also my friend for over 16 years.  He also was my late husbands' physician.  He passed in 2001 from brain cancer.  Of all my physicians, Mike has always been the most supportive, compassionate,  friendly, yet professional when needed.  He was so knowledgeable, he was a great resource.  We discussed my diagnosis of MS and it's management frequently.  We also talked about Dr Stacie, Saxon and Soren.  He always had a story about the boys, from adoption to new things they were learning to do.  It is my hopes that God blesses this family and helps them through the tough times they face and that their wonderful memories of a wonderful man will help them in the future to maintain a connection for his children.

He was my Dr. for a short time. (to short ). He correctly found my problem that no other Dr.did and I am much better off today because of him. I thank him so very much and will say prayers for him and his family.My life is so much better because of him.God,s blessing and speed Dr. Fischer. I have lost a very good Doctor.

Dr. Mike was a great guy.  I first met him at World Gym almost 15 years ago.  We trained together numerous times over the years. He trained hard and loved the gym. Dr. Fischer was my neurologist for 10 years (this month). He diagnosed me with MS. I felt so comfortable with him from the day I met him and said, "hi Liz, I'm Dr. Fischer" when he opened up the exam room door! What I loved is that my legal name is Elizabeth & on all the paperwork I put Liz next to Elizabeth but no other doctor has ever called me Liz and I knew right then that him doing that, he'd definitely be my neurologist! He was my favorite doctor I ever had! There will not be another one like him! I loved that he took his time with me, answered all my questions plus gave me time to write his answers in a notebook because I have memory problems due to the MS. He was also so helpful on so many other levels. I loved how his face would light up when he talked about his children! I'm sure he is a great dad! I would call the office for different questions and he would always answer them and either get back to me himself or his nurse would call me back. He told me last year about his illness. I just couldn't believe it. Every time I thought of him, I would pray for him. There is so much more but this is all I could remember right now. You will be very missed, Dr. Fischer!

Dr. Fischer was my sister Katharine Anderson's doctor for many years. Katharine passed away last year from a long fight with a brain tumor. Dr. Fischer cared for Katharine and our family. 
 His compassion was unmatched. He truly stands out as an exceptional person. One created with great understanding and love. He had an ability to extend such grace and genuine kindness. His gentle life made an ongoing impact on many.
We are so sad for his family. I pray that God hold you all close. That you may experience His peace that passes all understanding.
There are some things we will never understand this side of heaven. Yet I believe that He now hears well done good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of the Lord.

Dr. Fischer was a good man and a great physician. He helped my quality of life after 3 years of living in pain with neuropathy. I not only respected him in his profession  but also as a friend. All my prayers for Dr. Anastasia and the rest of his family. Keep the Faith.

Michael Fischer was the most amazing and caring neurologist I have ever had the pleasure to know.  He and his wife Stacie took care of me for many months when I was sick.  He was such a friendly person, had a great personality, was so compassionate, and always made me feel comfortable during my time under his care.  Anastasia, I am so deeply sorry for your loss, he was an incredible human being.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, your children and your families.

I remember talking with Mike about his days as a bouncer and how he spent his time studying index cards between "conversations".  It was hard to imagine anyone crazy enough to challenge Mike.  A big man, he was an even bigger hearted doc, husband and dad. Our deepest sympathies to Stacy, Saxon, Soren and family.

Michael Fischer was the Chief Resident and the Chief of Service when I began my LSU Neurology Residency in July of 1997. Anastasia was the Psychiatry Rotator and would soon become  a Neurology resident as well. Mike was a great Chief Resident , a superb intellect, knowledgeable, extensively read, a willing and able teacher. He went on to set a standard as an excellent Neurologist. His passing is noted with much sorrow. Condolence to the bereaved family. Anastasia, Saxon, Soren: Please be about as Michael would expect you to be. With stout hearts prepared for any fate, achieving, pursuing, laboring and waiting. For though this moment is difficult, with time you will again know joy.
