Mercedes Tully Jordan

Mercedes Tully Jordan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, she was 83. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Luther Jordan and her parents Thomas and Loretta Casey Tully. Loving mother of Jenelle Jordan, Lester Jordan (Robin), and Donna Scheidel (Ronald). Grandmother of Jennifer Dunn (Neal), Rachel Forstall (Christopher), Jameson Jordan (Kelly), Brittany Scheidel, and Jordan Scheidel. Great Grandmother of Dylan, Averey, Aubrey, and Brynn Dunn, Reese, Emery and Brooke Forstall and Kameron Jordan. She is the sister of Aubrey Tully (Dolores), Betty Totora (Russell), Melroy Tully (Catherine), Theda Melerine and the late Thomas Tully, Tucker Tully and Merline Kelone. Sister in law of Rose Jordan, Rose Tully and the late George Jordan, Robert Jordan, Edward Jordan, Ethel Shirley, Anna Ragan, Josephine France, Iris Thibodeaux. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mercedes was best known for her love of cooking and baking. Every holiday was spent at her home where she prepared a feast of delicious dishes and desserts for her family and friends. She was a natural caregiver, always caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Her family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Ochsner Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Friday, October 5, 2018. Visitation will begin at 9 am. Mass will begin at 11 am in the funeral home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at All Saints Mausoleum.
