Melvin R. Goudeau Sr.

Melvin R. Goudeau, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born in New Orleans to the late Marshall Goudeau and Regina Ferbos Sambrone; beloved husband of the late Rita V. Goudeau; loving father of Melvin R. Goudeau, Jr. (wife: Sue); brother of the late Morris Sambrone, Sr., Roy Goudeau, Carol Mae Goudeau Burns, Dolores Goudeau Seymour, and Armond Goudeau, Sr.; cousins, Lionel Ferbos and Joyce Ferbos Romeaus. Melvin also leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Melvin Goudeau, Jr. (Sue), Godson, Louis J. Seymour (Gretchen), sister-in-law, Cornell Goudeau, and good friend, Max Nathan, Jr. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Melvin was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, and served his country during World War II.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. Pastor Samuel Gibbs will be officiating.
