She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tulane University and worked for South Central Bell Company for 32 years. After retirement, Maud loved to plant in her gardens and watch the hummingbirds. She was very active and committed to Jazzercise, volleyball, cabbage ball, table tennis, and bowling; whenever the seasons rolled around, she was there. She also loved collecting her tropical fish and watching them grow with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maud Bivona, and brother, Martin Bivona.
Maud is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frederick Bentel; son, Brice Frederick; grandchildren, Olivia and Leighton; and brothers, Frank Bivona, Jr. and Patrick Bivona.
The family would like to give special thanks to Home Instead and Anvoi Hospice for outstanding service and to Ann Bentel for helping the family through four difficult years.
Relatives and friends are invited to the services on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
