Mary Jessie "May" Stuckey

Mary Jessie ”May” Stuckey passed away March 11, 2022. She was born in Monroe, LA to the late Efrain Salinas, Sr. and Julia (Hernandez) Salinas. She was a graduate of Jefferson High and formerly held the position of President of the LSU Agriculture Extension Service's Sunshine Ladies, though she principally devoted her time to being a homemaker, sports mom and trusted friend. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Maurice; her son, Dwayne; and her brother, Efrain “Frank” Salinas, Jr. She is survived by: her son, Dennis (& Cheryl), her daughters, Junell (& Roger) Scheeres and Deanna Stuckey; her sister, Hortense “Chinchi” (& Charles) Lang; along with her six (6) grandchildren; nine (9) great-grandchildren; eleven (11) nieces and nephews, dozens of cousins and six (6) fur-babies. She spent countless years in the service of her family and community and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by a service at 12:00PM.
