Mary Etta Ponseti

Mary Etta Farr Ponseti passed away April 23, 2016, in Sandy, UT, at the age of 83. She is survived by her sons Luke (Margaret) and Matthew (Lenette); daughters Monica (Richard Olinde), Christi (William Kirkikis), and Allison (Francis Novak); granddaughters Whitney, Mariel, Jacqueline, Adrienne, Anna, Christiana, Marcelle, and Caroline; grandsons Mark, Clayton, John, James, Mark, William, Walker, Connor “Scout,” Cobe, Patrick, Philip, John, Paul, David, and Luke. She is preceded in death by her first husband John Robert Ponseti; second husband Ted Ponseti; son Mark Steven Ponseti; parents Wessie Harrell and William Farr; and brother Marvin Farr. She was born in Henleyfield, MS, April 7, 1933, and graduated from Sophie B. Wright School in New Orleans. She owned and operated SAS Shoes in New Orleans East and Metairie and was an active volunteer for her children’s schools and her parish church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Kenner, where she received the Regina Matrum award in 1992 for being an exemplary Catholic mother. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Lake Lawn Funeral Home in Metairie. The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., mass at 12 p.m., with interment to follow.
