Mary Roniger Freese

Mary Roniger Freese, born August 29, 1935 in New Orleans, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2014, after a brave battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Florence Roniger, and her beloved husband, Gene Freese. She is survived by her children, Timothy Freese (Daphne), Terrence Freese (Gayle), and Amy Carter (Daniel); grandchildren, Allison, Jennifer, Chelsea, Devon, Erin, Emily, Chase, and Colt; great grandchildren, Luke and Cayden; and cousins, Bill Weaver (Tricia), and Peggy and Barbara Weaver.

She was one of the most thoughtful, funny, generous friends one could ever imagine. Her longtime friends were known as the Tri – W. Club. She never hesitated to reach out to help her neighborhood friends, and in the end the neighborhood would return the favor. We would like to thank everyone for their love and support.

The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the entire Hoffman family, along with the Assel and Trahan family and many other long time friends, including the Alumnae of Sacred Heart High School, class of ’51, that she held special.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 6:00PM. A gathering will be held at the funeral home beginning at 4:30PM. Interment will be at a later date.
