Marvin Lee Owens Jr.

Marvin Lee Owens, Jr., age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 7, 2016. Marvin is survived by his wife. Dolores Villafarra Owens; his children, Kelly Owens Dennis (Mark) and Scott Michael Owens; his step-children, Marc Braquet, Aaron Burgau (Kim) and Briana Burgau Henry (Corey); his grandchildren, Jonathan and Ryan Dennis and Noah and Oliver Burgau. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Mire and his brother, Edmond Roman Mire. Marvin sang, played guitar, and was a member of the Life Teen Youth Group at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed bowling, golf and body building competitions. He had his own band in the sixties that performed at Pontchartrain Beach. Marvin was an entertainer, whose songs with family and friends alike will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 12:00 NOON. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. The family would prefer no flowers.
