Mark James Heine, Sr.

Mark James Heine Sr. “Pops” age 67 passed away peacefully on April 30, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved husband of Barbara Reeson Heine of 47 years. He was a loving father to Mark James Heine Jr., Alice Elizabeth Heine, Michael James Heine, and Matthew James Heine. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Derrick Englade Jr., Elizabeth S. Wetherbee, Emma May A. Wetherbee, and Abel Michael Heine. He was a loving brother to Jackie Sedberry, and Theodore (Gail) Heine. He was very dear to Federico Icaza, Vincent Lauro, Sara Booth and her children. He also loved his many nieces, nephews, and all his adopted grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Arthur Heine and Lois Pauline Heine, his brothers Arthur Heine, John Heine, Alois Heine and their wives.

Mark loved woodworking, fixing cars, crabbing and crafts. He worked with Alois making cabinets and then ran a gas station before retiring. He loved spending time with his family, teaching them the value of life, making people laugh, and spoiling his wife. He was a great friend to anyone.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the medical staff at Tulane Medical Center, especially Dr. Murphy Trey Martin and his office staff.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA from 9am to 11am with a catholic service officiated by Deacon Curt Reeson beginning at 11am. Family gathering will follow in Chalmette at the Palms Casino 8001 West St. Bernard Highway Chalmette, La 70043. In Lieu of flowers donations would be preferred and sent to Camp ASCCA in Alabama for his disabled son Mark Jr.
