Marion Walther Mire

Marion Walther Mire, 88, passed away on April 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frederick J. Mire and her parents Donald P. and Bessie L. Walther. Marion is survived by her children, Michael Mire (Regina) and Brenda Mire Hillburn (George); grandchildren, Melinda M. Orellana (Alex), Lauren, Holly and Olivia Hillburn; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Adriana, Caitlin and Emerson Orellana. Marion was a graduate of Nicholl's State University. She was a Kenner/Metairie resident for the majority of her adult life. Marion was a long time parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and a full-time member of the Chateau Estates Garden Club. Though she enjoyed all Chateau Estates Garden Club and related activities, the priority of her life was loving her family. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11am. Visitation is from 9:30am until service time. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Kenner, LA.
