Born June 5, 1919 in French Settlement, La., to the late Ella Guitreau and Henry Lambert. She was the wife of the late Paul Daniel (P.D.) Lambert Jr. for 44 years. She is survived by her son Raymond Daniel (Dan) Lambert; her daughter Susan Lambert McKay and son-in-law Ronald McKay; 3 grandchildren: Steven Lambert (Michelle), Donna Lambert and Scott McKay. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren: Casey Lambert, Taylor Lambert Borkat (Michael), Daniel Carter and LeAnn Carter. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Mary Grace Enos Lambert: 4 siblings; Leola Lobell, Henry Lambert, Helen Faucheaux and Camille Pitcher.
After graduating from French Settlement High School in 1938 she married and pursued her passion
for history and genealogy for over 60 years. She was a member of the New Orleans Genealogical Society and the French Settlement Historical Society and loved sharing her research with her circle of genealogy friends.
Marietta lived her adult life in New Orleans and Metairie and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena parish for nearly 70 years before moving to Brookdale Senior Living of Mandeville in 2015. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who all loved her dearly. The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale for their kindness during the last three years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass held in the Chapel at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until Mass. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
