Marie Madeline Peré Lago passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 87 on January 11, 2021 - the birthday of the Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. She was born on December 16, 1933 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Francis Leon Peré in Abbeville, LA. Madeline graduated from Loyola University and was proud of her career as a Medical Technician. Madeline was a country girl at heart and a city girl by choice. Madeline lived life to the fullest and was the consummate host who felt at home feeding one or one hundred. Madeline always put others first and went out of her way to care for family, friends, and strangers alike. While your loving presence will be greatly missed, your memories will be with us forever. We love you, Ma.
Madeline is preceded in death by her parents and siblings and the love of her life, her son, Darren M. Lago. She is survived by her loving family, including: her daughters, Danelle L. Garraway (Kendall) and Dayna M. Lago, M.D.; her son, David M. Lago (Theresa); and her grandchildren, Kendall Garraway, Caroline Garraway, John Garraway, Anna Dickinson, Bridget Dickinson, Callie Dickinson, Ethan Lago, and Jackson Lago.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to Darlene Green and Vanessa Matthews for their love and care towards Madeline.
