Marie Sunseri Giambelluca age 89 of Mandeville,Louisiana and a parishioner of St.Anselm Catholic Church of Madisonville, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in St. Anthony of Padua Parish. She graduated from St.Mary’s Dominican High School and attended Dominican College. Marie studied alongside the Dominican sisters in Rosaryville, Louisiana before returning home to work for The United States Coast Guard. Marie was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Sunseri and Isabelita Morales Sunseri. Marie has two surviving siblings Delores Sunseri Vollenweider and Frank Sunseri (Linda). Marie was preceded in death by the love her life, her husband of 56 years, Michael Joseph Giambelluca, Sr. She had five children, the late Anthony Joseph, Michael Joseph, Jr. (Scarlett), Joseph Francis, Mary G.Evans (William), Theresa G. Lowder (Carl); grandchildren Alicia, Michael III, Lacey, Gabriella, Michelle, Timothy, Carl III, William, Caroline and Christopher; and great grandchildren, Isabella, Sofia, Viviana, Luke, Havana, Max, Dillon,Landon and Tallon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marie was a long time of resident Harahan and St. Rita Parish for 26 years. She belonged to and served on many philanthropic committees including The Elenian Club, lifetime member of Cancer Crusaders, New Orleans Opera Guild Association, Colonial Garden Club and others. Marie always loved working in her gardens, traveling with friends and family and entertaining at her home. Marie was currently a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana and a parishioner of St. Anselm Church for 25 years. For several years Marie was very active with the Saint Joseph Altar given by St. Anselm Church. Most of all Marie was a devout Catholic and loved her church. Her family, friends and her faith meant the most to her. Family and friends will miss her pure love and daily prayers for them. She had a great love and was dedicated to her Catholic religion and a very strong relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Anthony of Padua, 4640 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana Friday, July 12, 2024 at 3:00pm. Visitation is from 1:30 to 3:00. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family would prefer donations to
