Lucille Walmsley Ogden passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in New Orleans at the age of 80. Lucille was born on October 10, 1942, the third daughter of Dr. Henry Duplessis Ogden III and Miriam “Mimi” Walmsley Loker Ogden. She attended Holy Name of Jesus School and graduated from Mercy Academy in 1960 before attending Louisiana State University. Lucille wrote several career chapters in her life, but her most endearing role was that of a nurse, first in Poplarville, MS, and then at East Jefferson and Kindred Hospitals in New Orleans. Lucille was a devout Catholic and Saints Football fan and could be heard yelling, “Bless you boys!” .Her nieces and nephews will always remember how Lucille would entertain them by singing in reverse the alphabet song.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mimi, her step-father James Monteith, her sister Miriam Ogden Finley, her brother Peter Voorhies Ogden, niece Caroline Allison Ogden, brother-in-law Dr. Lionel “Poochie” de la Houssaye, and sister-in-law Diana Ogden. Lucille is survived by her sister, Marie Louise “Zizi” Ogden de la Houssaye, brothers Henry “Chip” Duplessis Ogden IV, and Charles “Barry’ Ogden (Jane), her nieces and nephews: Jeanne Ogden Cradic (Robert), Anne Ogden Masten (Corey), and Elizabeth Ogden Janke (Ben), Lionel “Lonnie” de la Houssaye Jr (Jeri), Jean-Paul de la Houssaye, Marie Louise de la Houssaye Civita (Francesco), Mimi Finley, Elinor Finley Dorsey (Dan), Charlotte Finley Viguerie, Ridgley Finley, Matthews Finley. She is also survived by 17 great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will begin at 10AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, followed by a Catholic Mass at 11AM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Interment to follow at Metairie Cemetery.
