Lloyd Edward “Poochie” Pollet, Sr. passed away on December 30, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born on January 26, 1937 in New Orleans and attended De La Salle and Loyola University. He worked as a civil engineer for various companies before working for Jefferson Parish. He married Meta Kalos on October 12, 1973. He was a Catholic man and loved baseball, having pitched for high school and various all-star teams as well as pitching and playing for Loyola University. In his later years, he created and sold crossword puzzles.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Elodie Wilson Pollet and Joseph King Pollet; his wife, Meta Kalos; his brothers, Howard Pollet and Wilson Pollet; his sister, Shirley Adams; and his son, Stanley Pollet.
He is survived by: his son, Lloyd Pollet, Jr. (Jean); his eight grandchildren; his twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m.
