Linda was born in New Orleans on March 6, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert Bryan Deane; parents, Doris Gros Laborde and George O. Laborde, Jr.; infant brother, Keith Allan Laborde; and stepson, Robert Bryan Deane, Jr.
Linda was a graduate of Louisiana State University and one of the first woman stockbrokers in the city of New Orleans. She was a pioneer and leader in the Financial Planning industry. In 1993, she opened her own firm, Deane Retirement Strategies, where she remained active until her death. She served on numerous business and historic preservation boards. Linda especially loved volunteering as a French Quarter walking tour guide for the Friends of the Cabildo for over 40 years. She and her husband, Bob, were extensive world travelers, having visited all seven continents. Just two months ago she visited the last continent on her list, Antarctica.
Linda is survived by her son, Keith Laborde Deane (Patrick McMahon); her sister, Denise Laborde Tillery (Robert); brother, Kenneth H. Laborde (Corinne); stepdaughter, Diane Deane Smith (Douglas); as well as nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at the family tomb at Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
