Leila deVerges Schafer

Leila deVerges Schafer, born in New Orleans on September 21, 1925, passed away at home on February 17, 2013 after a brief illness. She is the beloved wife of the late Gordon F. Schafer and the daughter of the late Edward J. deVerges, Sr. and Leila B. deVerges. She is the sister of Beverly DeSonier, Elaine Thomas, and the late Edward J. deVerges, Jr. She is survived by her 3 children Cheryl S. Rye (Henry), Gordon F. Schafer, Jr. (Kathleen), and Cynthia S. Chaumont

(Jose). In addition, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren mourn her passing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Thursday,
