We sadly mark the passing of Laurel Diane Marney, age 46, on October 21, 2016. Laurie was born on August 26, 1970 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and moved to New Orleans with her family in 1975. She is survived by her mother, Marcia Marney Rushing, her brother David Marney, step father Billy Rushing, maternal grandparents Sid and Isabel MacDonald of British Columbia, Canada plus many Canadian family members who remember her with great affection. Laurie was a compassionate animal advocate with a beautiful smile and engaging personality. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. A private memorial service will be held in Canada at a later date.
