Laura Latino Bazile was welcomed into God’s arms on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10:35 p.m. at the age of 95. She was the loving mother of Cheryl B. Schoenberger and Gary M. Bazile. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Jacob C. Bazile. Daughter of the late Nunzio Latino and the late Giacomina Palmeri Latino. Mother-in-law of Karen Turni Bazile and Alan F. Schoenberger. Grandmother of Stephanie Schoenberger Raschke (husband Chris), Amanda Bazile San Roman (husband Jose), Adam Turni (wife Natalie), Michael Bazile (wife Joyce), Ryan Schoenberger (wife Evelyn), Matthew Schoenberger and Joey Bazile. Great-grandmother of Adriana, Jayden, and Amelia San Roman; Adam Jr. and Josie Turni; Bailey, Brees, Bowen Bazile; Jonah and Jade Schoenberger. Laura was born in New Orleans, later lived in Metairie and moved to Covington after Hurricane Katrina. She graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in pharmacy from Loyola University in 1949 and won a merit award as a sophomore. She worked as a registered pharmacist at Mattingly’s Drug Store. She was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. A private visitation, on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Rosary will be said at 10:15 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans.
