Larry Wayne Lombas Sr.

Larry W. Lombas, Sr., born September. 8, 1944 in New Orleans, peacefully passed away, May 19, 2011 at his home in Kenner, Louisiana, after a 15 month battle with throat cancer. Beloved husband of Judy LaHoste Lombas. Father of Larry, Jr. (Michelle), Shelly Colomb (Dr. William), Troy and Dayna. Step-father of Chad, Brad, Somer Gerosa (Shane) and Blake Perez. Grampy of Lauren, Sarah, Emily, Alexis, Billy, Jr., Crystal, Troy, Jr., Avery, Alex, Evan, Brad, and Braiden. Son of the late Herman J. Lombas, Sr. and Anaise Thibodeaux Lombas. Brother of Herman J. Lombas, Jr. Uncle of Lori K. Burch (Thomas) and great-uncle of Jordan Russo. Son-In-Law of Belle LaHoste. During his youth, he participated in numerous NORD athletic programs, at Bunny Friend Playground, under the tutelage of coach Firmin Simms. He later served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He then became a member of the N.O.P.D. and retired, as a Sergeant, after 28 years of decorated service. He also was a member of N.O.P.D. athletic teams and remained an active member of F.O.P. Larry had a unique personality and was sincerely loved and respected by all who knew him well. He will be sadly missed. Family, friends and members of N.O.P.D. may visit at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until a Funeral Mass at 2:00 P.M.
