Karen was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana. She attended Grace King High School. Karen worked over 25 years for Freeport-McMoRan, several years at Insulation Inc., and finally with Ochsner.
She loved spending time with friends, family, and her cats. She also loved crawfish boils, music, and family vacations at the beach.
Karen is proceeded in death by her father, Marcel A. Vera. She is survived by her mother; Lois Vera, siblings; Michael Vera (Kim), Cheryl Cole (Sam), Gloria Gibbs (Joe), and Kayla and Austin Gibbs.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, June 5, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home located at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Following the visitation, there will be a funeral mass held in Karen's honor beginning at 12:00 PM.
