Our beloved mother, Julie “Nina” Braud Amedio, on the morning of Sunday, April 11, 2021, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She was 79 years old. Born on November 29, 1941 to Joseph Michael Braud and Marie Rose Crochet. Loving mother of Joseph Amedio (Cherie), Michele McPherson (Michael), Jasper Amedio (Lisa), Donna Avery (Shawn), Angel Frierson (DeWayne), and Carol LeBlanc (Kendall); sister of Mary Venezia (Jimmy) and Lynn Salomone (Jerry); loving and proud grandmother of Chelby Hoag, Joseph Amedio, Jr., Michael McPherson, Jr., Taresa McPherson, Charles Trahan, Blake Amedio, Nicholas Avery, Kylie Avery, Logan Frierson, Kinleigh Frierson, Jarret Frierson, Jansen Frierson, Jonathan Amedio, and Amanda Cuevas. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Hailey, Joshua, Kaelyn, Joey, Jr., Chase, Ryder, Laya, Jason, and Skylar; numerous nephews and nieces that she adored; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Joseph John Braud; and the father of her children, Kelly Amedio.
Julie was fierce in her love for her family and often times thought of others more than she thought of herself. She was a Walmart associate at Store 553 for 18 years, where she worked with some amazing friends who she often referred to as her second family. Julie leaves a space that can never be filled.
We thank the Palliative Hospice that gave her such exceptional care, and for their special ability to make an incredibly hard time easier for our family to bear.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Julie’s memory to the American Lung Association, www.lung.org.
