Beloved wife of the late George H. K. Rigamer, Sr.

Mother of George H. K. Rigamer, Jr., and wife Elenor, Mark Stephen Rigamer and former wife Joy, Chris David Rigamer and wife Cindy.

Daughter of the late Sarah Aiavolasiti Brocato and Joseph Brocato.

Sister of the late Theresa Schembre, Sarah Blanchard, Angie Judice, Rosie D’Antonio, and Rosie Brocato.

Grandmother of Lisa (Basel), Robert (Amy), Michael (Meghan), Erin (Tim), Linda (Christopher), David (Christine), and Daniel (Joseph).

Great Grandmother of Hannah, Elise, Sebastian, Phoenix, and Leo.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

From pasta Milanese and butterfly gardens to home sewn heirlooms, Josie created many loving family memories. As time took her memory, she still sang through each day, inspiring a family singalong to her last. Her loving devotion to her family and especially to her beloved George was evident throughout her life and will be cherished forever.

We wish to express our most heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers who provided loving care and sang with her to the end. We are deeply grateful to Cheri, Aunt Mary, Denise, Karen and Quenella, and for the loving care from Beth, Josetta, and everyone from Hospice Associates.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Noon. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation on Monday from 11:00 until service time. Her family welcomes contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
