Joseph E. Christina passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the age of 90. He was born on January 7, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After serving his country with the United States Navy, he went on to work as a commodities supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joannah St. Romain Christina; parents, Emile and Rosalie Christina; twin sons, Jack and John Christina; and brother, Carlo Christina.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Jeannette Christina Stiegler (Charles R); son, James Christina (Karen); his grandchildren, Charles J. Stiegler (Melanie) and Christopher Stiegler (Renee); and his great-grandchildren, Claire, Alice, and Charles A. Stiegler all who affectionately knew him as “Papa Joe”.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Colonial Oaks staff of angels for their care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2 PM. Visitation will begin at 1 PM. Joseph will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park following the chapel service.
