John Joseph Santella

John Joseph Santella passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 92. John is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Audrey Mayronne Santella, his daughter, Ann Santella Gomez wife of Gonzalo T. Gomez, Jr., his son Matthew John Santella husband of Cynthia Diane Whittington Santella; seven grandchildren, Christopher Gomez (Laura), Andrea Thompson, (Leland), Jonathan Gomez, Gabrielle Gomez, Erica Gomez, Caitlyn Gomez and Sandy Rushing (Tommy); and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Niccolo and Prosperina Bezzo Santella, two brothers, Nicholas and Stephen Santella and one sister, Ada Santella.

John was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and a retiree of the U. S. Naval Base in Algiers.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 A.M.
