He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lucie Woodward Cavaroc; their four children (and their spouses): John Peter Cavaroc, Jr. (Sheila) of Pittsboro, NC, Elizabeth Hebert Cavaroc Hiers (Daniel) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Michael Woodward Cavaroc (Erica) of Piermont, NY, and Peyton Bernard Cavaroc (Julia) of Charleston, SC; seven adoring grandchildren: Headen Woodward and James Henry Hiers; Luke Peter and Evan Scott Cavaroc; Caleb John, Eloise Evelyn and Charlotte Louise Cavaroc; his siblings Evelyn Claire Cavaroc of Garner, NC, Jane Anne Cavaroc Brenden (John) of Ocean Springs, MS, and Marie Louise Cavaroc of Springfield, OR; and many loving brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Claire Hebert Cavaroc, his father Victor Viosca Cavaroc, Sr., and his brother, Victor Viosca Cavaroc, Jr.
John was graduated from L’Ecole Classique High School, attended LSU and was graduated from University of New Orleans. He remained a loyal LSU Tiger fan throughout his life. After college, he served in the Coast Guard. He had his own CPA firm for over 35 years, in which he worked closely with his valued clients. Four years ago, he merged with Duplantier, Hrapmann, Hogan & Maher, LLC.
As a 7th -generation New Orleanian, John had a great love for the city and its history. He gave back to the community by donating his services to charitable organizations. He was President of The Louisiana Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution and a member of Military Order of Foreign Wars, Society of the War of 1812, Founders of the City of New Orleans, and several carnival organizations.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Mater Dolorosa Church, 1230 S. Carrollton Ave. New Orleans, LA 70118. Visitation at church will begin at 9:00 a.m. until Mass at 11:00 a.m. Internment will be private.
