Joel Marie Barnes - Le Beau

Joel was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness; and the daughter of the late Shirley Lazard Narcisse; step-daughter of the late Herbert J. Narcisse; mother of Troy A. Barnes (LeAnn), Sr., Lisa C. Henry (Michael), and the late Corey E. Barnes; sister of Craig M. Narcisse and the late Anthony Lazard; niece of Janice Lazard and the late Edward Lazard, Sr., Earthy and Edith Lazard, Joyce and Gilbert Narcisse, Walbert and Melba Mercadal, Leon Lazard, and Alfred Lazard, Sr.; grandmother of Joel Q. Barnes, Troy Barnes, Jr., Michelle Henry, Michael Henry, Jr. and Lakia Ross Barnes; great grandmother of Jo’liyah Barnes, Norielle Henry, and Ellie Henry; and devoted friend of the late Edgar “Eddie” P. Smith.

Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends, and members from the Jehovah’s Witness community.

Relatives, friends, and employees of Shirley’s Day Care are invited to attend the visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation in Metairie Cemetery.
