Joan Lodelia Poché Townsend, born August 18, 1941, died October 9, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Annie Lee Woods Poché and Guy Miller Poché, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ronald M. Townsend; daughter, Janice T. Williams (Kirk); son, Brian M. Townsend (Heather); sister, Janice P. Camp (W. Gerald); brother, Guy M. Poché, Jr. (Ruby); grandchildren, Kristen W. Thayer (Philip); Kyle B. Williams (Courtney); and Alexa D. Williams; great grandsons, Aiden B. Thayer and Jaxen P. Thayer; nieces, Lisa and Christine; nephews, Gerry, Mike, Ray, and Guy. Joan graduated from Fortier High School. She worked as a personnel assistant and statistical clerk for Maison Blanche. Joan was a breast cancer survivor. She died as a result of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, (PSP), a very rare disease.
