Jessie Ann Heyd Aucoin passed away June 28, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family and Our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, homemaker and a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Slidell, Louisiana since 1993. She was the beloved wife of Theodore A. Aucoin, Jr. Jessie was born November 23, 1930 as the only child of the late Annie Moate Heyd and the late Harold Aloysius Heyd. She graduated from St. James Major Grammar School in 1943 and Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in 1947. She also graduated from the Roberta L. Gross School of Dancing in 1947 with a Teaching Certificate. Jessie was a member of the Parent Teachers Association for every year her children were in school through high school. She participated as a member of several bowling leagues. Jessie was a Maid in the Mardi Gras Krewe of Alpheus in 1950. She was also a member of Mardi Gras Krewe of Iris for three years. She was a secretary employed by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company from 1947 to 1953. She was a member of the St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church and devoted eight of the later years of her life to teaching CCD religion to sixth graders, whom she loved very dearly. Jessie married Theodore (Ted) August Aucoin, Jr. in 1953 with whom she had two sons and one daughter, Harold Anthony(Tara Cunningham) Aucoin, Darlene Ann Aucoin (Bradley Gerard Sr.) Wagner, and Glenn August (Karen Badinger) Aucoin. She is the grandmother of Brendan Daly (Stephanie) Aucoin, Caitlin Heyd Aucoin, Bradley Gerard (Linsey) Wagner, Jr. and Jansen Michael Wagner and great grandmother of Bradley Gerard Wagner III and McKenzie Lynn Wagner. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, Louisiana on Wednesday July 2nd, 2014 starting at 11:30 am. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00am to 11:30am. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, Covington, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers and the usual remembrances the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Notre Dame Hospice, 10th Floor, 1000 Howard Ave., New Orleans, La. 70113.
