Jennie G. DeGenova passed away at her residence on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Felix A. DeGenova. Born in Ohio of the late Charles and Frances Gottardi and resident of New Orleans for 67 years. Loving mother of David C. (Kristi) DeGenova and Thomas L. (Connie) DeGenova. Sister of Carl (Claire) Gottardi and Irma Meyers. Adoring Grandmother of John (Katie) DeGenova, Matthew DeGenova, Andrew DeGenova, Alexander DeGenova, Adam DeGenova and Christopher DeGenova. She was married to the one and only love of her life, Felix ("Phil") who passed away in 1989. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as numerous dear friends who meant so much to her. Jennie was always busy. When her sons were young, she was an avid Cub Scout Den Mother, as well as a volunteer in the cafeteria, office and library at their grammar school. She then went on to own and operate a Hallmark card shop for many years. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. She was an active member of St. Ann Parish, the Girard Golden Age Club and the St. Ann Sewing Seams for Faith, having made dozens of healing quilts with her friends for those in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
