Jeffrey Nicholas Barthel

He is survived by his wife, Jean Hill (together for 25 years); son, Zachery Barthel; step-daughter, Julie Stewart; grandson, Austin Huesman; sister, Charlotte Barthel Doherty (Richard); brother, James Arthur Barthel (Vickie); sisters-in-law, Janet H. Bourgeois (Des) and Emily H. McGaughey (Jerry); nephews, Richard Jr. (Nora), Vance, Thomas “T.J.”, Shane, Jeffrey; niece, Jammielynn (Paul) and Jerilyn; Joseph Sebro “Paw-Paw Joe”; and multiple great nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey was an avid football fan who supported multiple Louisiana-based teams. He loved to travel and enjoyed attending sporting events at the city’s stadium. He had a taste for fine restaurants and was a super sharp dresser.

Jeffrey had a long-standing relationship with the Curtis family community. He graduated from John Curtis Christian School, and remained active in the school all throughout his life. He received a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Most of all, he loved his family very much.

The entire family would like to thank all those who have sent thoughts, prayers, and condolences during this most difficult time.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. A funeral service will be officiated by J.T. Curtis at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
