Janice Molina Hogan

Janice Molina Hogan passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at her home in Metairie, LA, surrounded by her loving family members. She was 90 years old. Janice was an accomplished businesswoman, working the majority of her career as a financial counselor in the New Orleans area. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She was also a fan of the Saints and LSU Tigers football. Janice hosted countless holiday gatherings, often featuring delicious Italian cuisine. Her loving nature, strength and independence were an inspiration to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Laura Kersten; son, Raymond Newman Jr. (Phyllis); stepdaughter, Karen Robinson; grandchildren, Tracey Wilson (Mark), Ryan Kersten (Stephanie), Ashley Newman, Katelyn Newman, and Eren Lee; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Wilson, Sloane Wilson, Joseph Kersten, and Victoria Kersten.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Russell Hogan Jr.; her beloved parents, Carlos and Laura Molina; and brother Carlos Molina Jr. (Rita).

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a memorial mass beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
