James Matthew Rosato, Sr.

James M. Rosato, Sr. passed away on February 20th, 2022 at the age of 74. He was born on May 12, 1947 in New Orleans to the late Matthew Charles and Mary Rosato. After graduating from St. Aloysius High School in 1967, he earned his B.S. from Southeastern LA University, his BSN from William Carey College, and his CRNA from the Southwest Missouri School of Anesthesia. He worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. He was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish and a member of the Divine Mercy Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, the New Orleans Alumni Chapter, and a charter member of the Krewe of Caesar for 40 years. In his spare time, he volunteered as a part of the dive team with the Audubon Aquarium and made numerous medical missions with Christ the Healer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Olive Alexander Rosato; his daughters, Wendy Hinyub (Jeff) and Sherry Rosato; his son, James M. Rosato, Jr.; his brothers, Charles Gerald Rosato (Gretchen) and John V. Rosato (Jan); and his grandchildren, Abigail Hinyub, Anna Hinyub, Julia Rosato, Harrison Rosato, Travis Haworth, and Samuel Haworth.

A visitation for Mr. Rosato will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, 70121 until mass begins at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery.
