James “Dan” Pearson, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the age of 67 after a year-long battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Schimpf Pearson. Loving father of Troy Pearson, Jeremy Pearson, and Stacey Daigle. Grandfather of Brady and Benjamin Pearson, Trevor Daigle, and future baby Daigle. Father-in-law of Jennifer Pearson, Brittany Pearson, and Robert Daigle. He is also survived by his many loved nieces and nephews.
Dan was born in New Orleans on November 12, 1948. He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Charles Borromeo, and Southeastern University. After his father’s death, he became the owner and operator of Pearson’s Trailer Parts and Repair Co., Inc., where later his sons would join him to run the company. Dan was a generous Boy Scout Leader for many years. Dan dedicated time and effort to the school and church of St. Matthew the Apostle in River Ridge. Dan enjoyed hunting and camping with his kids, boat rides, hot rods and car shows.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the a memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 10:00AM until 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana, www.ccalouisiana.com, or to Catch A Special Thrill (C.A.S.T.) for Kids Foundation.
