James Louis Lemarié passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 72 of congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Patt Richardson Lemarié; his sisters, Clare Lemarié Guilbault (Glenn), Mignon Lemarié Treuting (Keith), Charlotte Lemarié Noto (Tommy), Rhea Lemarié Gonczi (Don), Penny Milligan (the late Ralph); his brothers, Larry Lemarié (Beth) and Paul Lemarié; his godchildren, René Milligan and Martine Larose Wilson; 21 nieces and nephews; and 24 great nieces and nephews. His parents, Belle & S.L. Lemarié and his brothers René Lemarié and Russell Lemarié, precede him in death. Jimmie is a native of New Orleans and grew up in Lakeview. He was a 1967 graduate of Cor Jesu High School and a 1971 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana Lafayette with a B.S. in Business Administration. He worked many years as a manufacturer’s rep of consumer electronics, and opened Liuzza’s by the Track in 1997. He loved the atmosphere he created at Liuzza’s, one of socializing over good food and drinks. It was a gathering place for family and friends from both near and far. He was an avid Saints fan and season ticket holder since 1974, and Jazz Fest was his favorite time of year. Jimmie never met a stranger, was loved by many, and will be sadly missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon followed with a Funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 775 Harrison Ave., New Orleans, LA 70124. A private burial will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Facemasks will be required along with social distancing for the safety of all.
