James M. Holcomb

James M. “Jim” Holcomb, passed away peacefully at his home on March 22, 2016. He was 86 years old. Beloved husband for 66 years, to JoAnn Asbury Holcomb. Loving father to Charlotte Holcomb Booth, (Bill), Mark J. Holcomb, (Tess), Laura Holcomb Hummel, (Roland), and Clay F. Holcomb, (Robin). Grandfather to William E Booth III, (Amy), Allixandra Holcomb Gustafson, (Neil), Steffany K. Holcomb, Philipp M. Hummel, Haley A. Holcomb, Eric W. Hummel and Paige E. Holcomb. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Sarah A. Holcomb. Great grandfather to Miller Ann Booth and Sarah James Booth. Brother to the late Hiram Crawford Holcomb. Son of the late Arch and Myrt Holcomb of Alto, Texas. Jim was a native Texan and resident of New Orleans for the last 48 years. In the mid 1950’s he began his automobile career that included dealerships in South Texas, Florida and Louisiana. Jim enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and his many furry friends. Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Lakeside Hospice. Especially Denise, Valencia, Roberta and Leonard. They were wonderful to Jim and our family during this time. Relatives, friends and employees of Superior Honda are invited to Christ Church Cathedral, 2919 St. Charles Ave, New Orleans, LA 70115 on Friday, April 1, 2016 for a visitation at 10:00 A.M. with service to follow at 11:00.
