Guy received his Bachelor’s in Education from the University of New Orleans. He had a calling to serve as a special education teacher for 41 years, dedicating himself to the children of the New Orleans Public Schools. He taught at Livingston Middle, Eisenhower Elementary, Bethune Elementary, Ben Franklin Elementary, and Cypress Academy. He was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and devoted member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
Guy’s passions were to his wife, his family, the children he taught, and to the outdoors. He took every opportunity to be in the beauties of nature that God provided him. He found peace and serenity in backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking.
His wife and family are appreciative of and comforted by the outpouring of love and support offered by the many friends who loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be received by Louisiana SPCA, Bridge House/Grace House, Covenant House or the New Orleans Mission.
