Godfrey "Reggie" O. Reggio

Godfrey O. Reggio, Jr. died on Saturday, November 4, 2017 following a brief illness. He was born on January 2, 1928 to Godfrey Octave Reggio, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Haverkamp Reggio. He was the loving husband of the late Peggy Chase Reggio, his wife of 53 years. He is survived by 3 children, Godfrey O. Reggio, III (Paul Lyle/Reggio), Timothy C. Reggio (Laurinda Reggio) and Nancy Reggio Normand (Rodney J. Normand) and 3 siblings, Catherine Nunmaker/Derenbecker, Charles (Godfrey) Reggio and Kenneth Reggio. He was a Grandfather to Matthew J. Reggio, Jaime Reggio Lopez and Linsey Normand Marriott and a Great Grandfather to Mia, Jared, Riley, Nathan and Brady, plus numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Jesuit High School, then served in Saipan in the United States Navy. He returned following his time in the military and attended Tulane University for Engineering. Reggio was a partner of Gerhardt’s, Inc. before retiring in 1995 as President/CEO following a 47-year career. Reggio was frequent retreatant at Manresa House in Convent, LA. and an ardent supporter of Jesuit High School. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
