Gerald "Jerry" Anthony Mastio

Gerald "Jerry" Anthony Mastio passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was 77 years old. Beloved husband of Cheryl Widmer Mastio, the love of his life, for 57 years. Loving father of Alicia Mastio Foret (Robert) and Mark Gerald Mastio. Grandfather to Keith Michael Mahne (Stephanie), Kaitlyn Foret Stall (William), Cross Mastio, and Chloe Mastio. Great grandfather to Keith Michael "Mikah" Mahne, Jr., Lily Anne Mahne, William Louis Stall, and Savannah Louise Stall. Uncle to Gina Calcagno and the late Traci Calcagno Poitevent. Son of the late Irwin Mastio and Odette Mastio. Brother of the late Irwin "Brother" Mastio, Jr. and Lynne Mastio Calcagno.

Jerry graduated from Cor Jesu High School in 1962 and also of Delgado Community College. He was a member of IBEW Local 130, where he retired after 45 years of dedicated employment as an electrician. In his younger days, he loved participating in and watching all forms of sports and fishing. After retirement, his main focus was spending quality time with family and traveling with family and friends. He enjoyed watching football, especially LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, Pelicans basketball, horse racing, and fishing in Grand Isle and Hackberry, LA. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him, but always remembered for his outgoing sense of humor, selflessness, generosity, and devotion to God and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave. in Metairie, on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass beginning at 11:00AM. The interment will be private. In honor of Jerry, please wear casual and / or bright colored clothing.
