George “Dwight” Lehman was born on May 1, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio. He died of complications from Parkinson’s on December 6, 2017. Dwight was a proud graduate of THE Ohio State University and retired from the Louisiana Department of Labor. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Hill Lehman; daughters, Jennifer Lehman and Brenda Lehman Gorenc; grandson, Eli Gorenc, sister and brother-in-law, Ann Lehman Fraile and Robert Fraile. He was also a treasure to an extended step-family, including step-son Stephen O. Connell (Jaqueline), and step-daughters, Shannon Connell Marino (Norman), Kieran Connell Ginesi (Chris), and Colleen Connell Mitchell (Gregory), Gina Bruno Connell (Kevin), 23 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and lifelong friend Hollie Ryder. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, George Wilbur Lehman and Antoinette Burgoon Lehman of Kettering, Ohio; and by step-son, Kevin Patrick Connell and step grandson Bryce P. Mitchell. Dwight will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heart of Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Metairie Cemetery.
