After graduating from Warren Easton High School, he went on to work for the Sewerage and Water Board of the City of New Orleans. He started as a meter reader and retired as the supervisor of his department. He loved fishing, tinkering, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Annaloro Geissler; daughter, Ellen Ann Rutledge (Mark); son, George Lawrence Geissler (Bea Britton); brother, Lloyd Geissler (Letty).
George was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Edwin Geissler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11AM. A graveside service will follow in St. Louis Cemetery #3.
In lieu of flowers, please consider having a Mass said in his honor or a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
