Eugene V. Cousins

He is survived by his spouse of over 60 years, JoAnn Fauries Cousins; his daughters, Trudy Jean Gaudet (Donald), Cynthia Diane Ryan (Michael), Roslyn Ann Cousins (John), Vanessa C. Sellers (Roy) and Kim Eugenia Cousins; his grandchildren, Daniel Mark Gaudet (Aramis), Lauren Eugenia Gaudet Dorvin (Eddie), Anthony Eugene Longo, Emily Elizabeth Longo, Henry Frederick Laurent, II (Megan), Andre William Gaudet (Angela), Hannah Lynn Jo Ann Laurent (Josh), Lindsey Elizabeth Sellers and Roy Nolen Sellers, IV; great-grandchildren, Arabella Rose Lawtum, Dominic Oliver Gaudet, Ruby Rae Gonzalez and Harry Eugene Dorvin. He is also survived by his siblings, William Cousins, Jr., Kathleen Kruger, Cornelius Cousins, Francis Cousins, Lleana Messer, Bernard Cousins and Maria Cousins.

Eugene was born in New Orleans on December 23, 1936 to the late Antonia Marino and William Peter Cousins, Sr. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Milton Cousins, Martin Cousins, Donald Cousins, Wayne Cousins and Theresa Daigle.

Eugene retired after 23 years of service with the New Orleans Fire Department and had a career with the W.P. Cousins, Sr. Painting Contractor expanding over 60 years.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of AmeriCare Hospice for their care given to Eugene.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time with interment to follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
