Eric James Hedrick

Eric J. Hedrick passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was born on July 19, 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Earl and Shirley Hedrick. Eric graduated High School and pursued a career in Construction, and became the owner of E. J. Hedrick Construction for 30 years. Eric loved his family and friends, he loved working hard and going to the casino. He enjoyed game shows and loved his horse racing. He was an avid of football and having a good cold beer.

He is preceded in death by his brother; Earl Hedrick and his great grandchild; Thomas Gabriel Young.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Mary J. Hedrick of 56 years; his daughter; Gina H. Sanchez(Jeffery Rooney), his son; Jeffrey Hedrick(Martha Wyatt), his sister; Kai Piazza (Chester), his brother; Troy Hedrick, his grandchildren; Gabrielle Young (Brian), Erica Sanchez (Kody Yesenosky), Jessi Sanchez, Amanda Swanson(Noah), and many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws . Nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his soon to be great-grandchild; Amelia Grace Young (His Tallulah).

The family would like to give special thanks to Officer Nick Gagliano, EMS, Fire Department and other officers that came in their time of need. All relatives that all helped along the way, Lake Lawn Funeral Home for all their compassion and kindness (Chantell, Cynthia) and Celebration Church(Karla, Pastor Lance).

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, La 70124 on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 10AM-1PM, Funeral Service to follow at 1PM. Interment will be held in Metairie Cemetery.
