Eric John Halverson III

Eric John Halverson, III (Ricky) was born on March 31st, 1971 and passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on February 6, 2025 at the age of 53 in Shreveport, LA, where he lived for several years before his death. Eric spent much of his life struggling with numerous illnesses, but found time to enjoy fishing, sporting clays and spending time with family. He always made it home for the holidays and special occasions and especially enjoyed dining out with the family. Eric had a special affinity to the family dog, Lilly, who always greeted him with warmth and enthusiasm, even after long absences. Eric graduated from Ridgewood Preparatory School and attended the University of New Orleans through his junior year. He was studying to take the State Notary Exam at the time of his passing. Eric is pre-deceased by his grandparents, Eric and Anna May (Minnie) Halverson and Elwood and Violet Gall, and by his Godmother, Janet Gall (lovingly referred to as Nanny), his paternal aunt, Margaret (Halverson) King, his Godfather, Michael Halverson, and his maternal uncle, Joseph Gianfala. Eric is survived by his parents, Eric Halverson, Jr. (Johnny) and Lorraine Halverson, and his sister, Ingrid Halverson, and by several aunts, Denise Halverson, Donna (Gall) Gianfala, Ann (Halverson) Lepre, Mary (Halverson) Burd, Patricia (Halverson) Dunn, and Jeannie (Halverson) Baker, and his uncles, Thomas Halverson, Paul King and Robert Baker, as well as numerous friends, cousins and relatives from the Francioni, LeBlanc and Hedrick families.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Metairie Lake Lawn Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Noon. Interment will follow immediately thereafter at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
